A daily dose of spiritual exercise for men in various stages of their Christian walk

Here is a show-stopper kind of statement: “It has been scientifically proven…” followed by anything. The whole idea that scientists are a clan of those with the purest intent with internal checks and balances searching for the truth is a huge scam. Christians are often accused of being close-minded, but I will say that it appears that the more of God’s creation that is revealed, the more close-minded science becomes about God.

Case in point: Robert Boyle was the man credited with bringing chemistry out of the dark ages of alchemy. Now an alchemist was nothing more than a sham artist performing tricks with a minimum amount of knowledge to line his pockets while in pursuit of a way to change lead into gold. Robert Boyle elevated the pursuit to what we know now as chemistry. Boyle’s Law is a cornerstone of modern chemistry. Robert Boyle was smart. He, at the tender age of eighteen, helped found what we now know as The Royal Society of London. He knew six languages and knocked Aristotle off his Greek pedestal concerning earth, air, fire, and water not being the only elements. In short, compared to Boyle, Darwin was a witch doctor. Science now accepts as fact his discoveries about the atom and do not deny his contributions to the air pump. My point is this: Robert Boyle was as convinced about creationism as the origin of the universe as he was of any of his other discoveries. In fact, he felt the answers were in Scripture to the point that he studied them in the original language and even had the Bible translated to Gaelic. At no time in his life was science in conflict with God.

Fast forward to today. Biologist Michael Reiss was the director of education for The Royal Society of London, but he made the mistake of stating that, if the question of creationism came up in the classroom, that it ought to be discussed. His open-minded colleagues twisted his comments to say he wanted to teach creation in the classroom and he was force to resign. “Thanks, Mike, for all you’ve done. We wish you the best of luck!” Robert Boyle believed this:

“God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” ” Genesis 1:28

God is science.
