Be Creative
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
The Bible leads off with a fact about God. God is a creator. Therefore, we can firmly state that God is creative. By any rational definition of the word, it can also be said that people are creative, too. Where does that creativity come from? This is not a trick question.
“For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.” Colossians 1:16
God is the source of creativity. Does that mean all of our creative works are good? Hardly. We are still all sinners. So, does that mean all of our creative works are evil? Not at all. It all depends on the source.
“If you know that he [Jesus] is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.” 1 John 2:29
“Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.” 3 John 1:11
That seems pretty clear. We are capable of good creative works. But, only when God is in the middle of it. Like all of our talents, our creativity is a gift from God that can be used or misused. Be creative through God!
