A daily dose of spiritual exercise for men in various stages of their Christian walk

How do you say “thank you” to the policeman that chases down the criminal? How do you say “thank you” to the fireman that runs into the burning building to save a child? How do you say “thank you” to the soldier that runs toward the gunfire to protect our country? After just giving them the heartfelt words, I don’t think there’s any further way to thank these people enough. There’s no way to even the score for the sacrifices they make.

By the same token, how do we say “thank you” to the all-powerful God that gives us His blessings and saves us from the consequences of our own actions? He has given us things we do not deserve and which we can never repay. However, He did tell us how to thank Him:

“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.

Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.” Psalm 105:1-2

Thank God just by saying it, singing it, and praying it. Then, tell the world what He has done for you and those around you.

We can’t ever balance the books, but we can spread the word.
