A daily dose of spiritual exercise for men in various stages of their Christian walk

This is the season for cooking and seasoning. Out of all the different dishes that will be prepared, there will be similarities. I believe that there is a comparison between all of these dishes and the world’s religions. Salt can be tasted in many dishes, but, nevertheless, it is salt. So it is with God in the world’s religions in that there are traces of His authenticity in many, if not all, faiths. General revelation of God is the starting point.

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” Psalm 19:1

It is from here that the funnel narrows to the small tube. Jesus Christ changes the dynamics and He represents the last checkpoint for all the religions that omit Him as part of the Godhead.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.’” John 14:6

Do not be shy of this point. Do not feel bad that you see the truth and others do not. Be tolerant of those that do not see the truth, but do not be tolerant of those that will not tolerate your faith. Disagreement about the path to God and agreement to live together is tolerance. Intolerance is not accepting the fact that it will never be the case that everyone will think alike. Diversity is allowing believers to walk, talk, sing, dance, pray, and dress within the wide range allowed by the Bible in their worship of the Godhead. Allowing the denial of scripture, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is not diversity, it is falsehood.
