A Question for the Skeptic
I have stated before that it is easy to ask a hard question, but not so easy to answer one. We face this issue many times because we subscribe to the Bible. But, I now have one for the people who usually ask the hard questions of the Christian.
Jesus Christ stated His foreknowledge of His death and resurrection many times. (Matthew 12:38, Mark 8:31, Mark 9:31, Mark 10:33-34, John 2:18-22) He said it and we believe it. The skeptics do not believe it.
These statements are circumstantial evidence and not all of the evidence. However, it is enough to ask the question: If it did not happen just the way He said it would, then where is the evidence against it? If the Jewish leaders knew He said it and knew that if it turned out to be true that He would be proved right and if they tried while He was alive to discredit Him at every turn, then why did they not come forward with any evidence that proved the events were wrong? If they could have produced His body or any evidence that it had been moved, there should be mounds of writings and eyewitness accounts. The Sadducees and Pharisees would have pounced on any chance to discredit Jesus in death as they attempt to do during His life. Their silence speaks like a trumpet blast that they had no such evidence.
What will they say when He returns?
