A daily dose of spiritual exercise for men in various stages of their Christian walk

Because I am not a language or grammar standout, words are not as structured for me as they are for people that are very technically word-oriented. I see words like a Picasso, not like a blueprint. Words have colors and flavors to me. The sound of a word is as important to me as its definition. Take the relationship between humble and humiliation. I see these two words as inseparable because they are related, and yet so different in their souls. Humiliation, at it’s core, is based on depriving someone of their self-esteem. While humility is the process of giving up pride in oneself thereby preserving self-esteem. No matter what stand you make in life, as long as you were not motivated by pride, you cannot be humiliated.

“You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.” 1 Peter 5:5

“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;” Philippians 2:3

Pride is the General to worldly power. Even though the powerful may seek to humiliate those that do not agree with them, the humble cannot be humiliated.
