A Good Offense
I find myself, once again, adjusting my attitude.
I no longer defend my faith.
I let other people defend their faith in light of the evidence that exists for mine.
I “offense” my faith.
I say, “I am willing to see things your way if you the evidence for your belief system is better than the evidence for my belief system. Give me an outline of what you believe and why you believe it.”
Then,
“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” 1 Peter 3:15
Ask yourself, “If someone were to ask me, right now, why I believe what I believe, could I articulate the basics in my own words with a moderate statement of forty-five seconds or less.”
If the answer is “no”, then get after it!
