A daily dose of spiritual exercise for men in various stages of their Christian walk

This is a quote from a gay rights activist regarding people of faith standing up against the gay lifestyle.

“I encourage them to promote the values they believe in and to defend their religious principles in advertisements, but civil rights have nothing to do with religious principles.”

This idea that you can separate values from civil rights is an empty notion. Where do we think principles, values, and rights come from? They come from those ideas that we think are valuable. There are only two entities in play: man and God. You either subscribe to the idea that “man has all truth” or “God has all truth”. You cannot have it both ways (some in this basket and some in the other). Are we to say to God, “Some of your ideas are fine, but not all of them.”?

“This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve,
‘THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE VERY CORNER stone,’ ” 1 Peter 2:7

One builds with only one cornerstone.
