A daily dose of spiritual exercise for men in various stages of their Christian walk

Do you do it because you love it? Or, because you have to? Do you serve and worship and pray because you hunger for the relationship? Or, do you go through the motions because it’s what you have to do?

There is no joy in the drudgery of rote behavior. There is no fulfillment in slogging through ceremony and recitations. There is no reward for walking the path that way. Joy is in doing what you love for the one you love. Hard work feels easy when it’s done to support the center of your life. The reward is the fulfillment of the hope that has driven you on.

“I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.” Psalm 40:8

David did it because he loved God. He hungered for relationship.

You gotta want it.
