A daily dose of spiritual exercise for men in various stages of their Christian walk

Why don’t the so-called progressive thinkers just come out and say it? Why don’t they just clearly state that the problem with the world is too much religion and not enough dependance on our own abilities? It only stands to reason that the world needs to come together in knowledge and not myth. We could live in peace if we were just tolerant of one another and if we preserved, managed, and shared the earth’s resources. If you need religion as a crutch, just keep it to yourself.

The problem, of course, is twofold: who makes the rules and the nature of man. This conflict of reason between God and man comes to one moment in time. That time comes to every person at least once. It is that time when we ask the questions like, “Where did I come from?” and “Why am I here?” Religious leaders, philosophers, and scientists all come to conflict over the point. It is the proverbial three-legged stool for the world.

I did a little research:
- 6,767,805,208 folks on the earth
- 44 (plus or minus) religions
- 6 basic belief systems
- 84% of the population belong to one of those 6
- 16% are non-religious
- 8% of that 16% are Theistic (they do believe in a higher power)
- So, 8% of the population are pure non-believers
- 41% of scientists are non-believers

There are two things the majority of religious people believe: First, they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong. Second, they believe that you cannot opt out if you want a life after death. You must choose. So, it seems to me one ought to get after deciding which religion is right.

Compare the evidence and judge for yourself how Jesus stacks up.

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

The real choices are: pure science without God, religious leaders, dead gurus, or that guy who died and came back to life!
