Calm in the Storm

When the walls are caving in and the sky is falling, nobody is looking towards the panicked person for inspiration. Nobody is seeking out those in a tizzy for leadership. It’s the clear thinkers and the calm personalities that rise to the top in a crisis. People without an anchor are looking for something stable as a reference. They need a rock to swim towards.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
The world will give you trouble. The world will send storms and waves. It’s Christ in you that will give you peace and calm despite the world. It’s Christ overcoming the world that gives us confidence even when things look the most unstable.
Some may seem strong and calm without Christ, but it’s temporary at best. It’s more likely that their strength isn’t what it seems. We know that real peace in the midst of trouble comes from Christ. Find peace in the storm by depending on Him.
