Serve, Invest, and Sow
It has been pointed out that you have to serve someone. There is nobody on the planet who is without a master. The question is simply whom or what are you serving.
Another way to put it is that every decision and action you take in life is an investment. It’s an investment of time, energy, and treasure. So, one way to measure your life is to measure the value of those investments. Did you put it into junk bonds hoping for the big score, but likely just taking a big hit? Did you put it an interest-only account making sure you didn’t lose anything, but taking no risks at all? Or did you invest in the fund that takes effort, but happens to have a solid record of good returns?
Where you serve, where you invest, or where you sow determines where your heart is. The results of that service, investment, and the crops you reap will demonstrate loudly where your heart is.
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8
What are you sowing? Where is your focus? Who is your Master? What will you reap?
