Job had developed successful habits over the years, yielding wealth and security for him and his family. In a day, it was all swept away. Should Job just buck up and try again? Now, his health is shot also. Where is Job supposed to get strength to carry on? His friends are not helpful, and God is silent. He is done, from all appearances. He only has one question left: why am I still alive?
My grandfather died last New Year’s Eve, about two years after he was tired of this life. But, for him, it was not oblivion that he was after, but a new home and a new body and freedom from suffering. He suffered two more years.

Tell God that you trust Him to bring an end to your suffering at exactly the right moment.
